Inverewe Gardens
Spring Fever was anchored for two nights in Camas Glas, a little bay with landing steps for visitors to Inverewe Gardens. It’s an astonishing place, with many plants that if you didn’t see them, you’d never believe would thrive in the far north-west of Scotland. Photos are the best way to tell this story.Up through the woods…the forest of trees planted on a ridge in the 19th century gave protection to a little south-facing valley beyond.Down the other side of the hill – Inverewe HouseThe walled garden– vegetables on the higher slope, plants from all overthe worldlowerdownIn the walledgardenA South Africa terracePalm treesVegetable plots along the upper wall – onions, mangetout peas, beans, artichokes and many others.Tree fernsBack to the jettyDeflating the dinghyTemperature 14 degreesA family of seals and their pups keeps an eye on us
